For information relating to the term anatomy in Star Trek canon, see anatomy.

Anatomy dealt with the structure of lifeforms and the smaller structures that comprise the overall structure. It could also be an academic study in the biology field.

Physiology, on the other hand, generally dealt with the function of those structures.

A humanoid described a lifeform with similar anatomy and physiology to a Human.

Human anatomy and physiology was not compatible with the Jenchum Thrall. (Star Trek: The Prospect Chronicles: "Starry, Starry Night")

An autopsy could help determine the anatomy and physiology of a previously unknown alien species. (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Catalyst, Part One")
